Anna Lucille Janke, known to her friends as Lucille, 96, Medford, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Homeplace of Stanley, under the care of Moments Hospice. A Funeral Mass for Lucille will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Julian Druffner officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Little Black. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, July 28, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Kyle and Jacob Vircks, Michael Janke, Gerald and Randy Frenzel and Melvin Thompson will be serving as pallbearers.

Lucille was born on Nov. 2, 1926 to Fred and Mary (Suchomel) Frenzel in the town of Little Black. She married Reinhold “Reiny” Janke on Feb. 26, 1949 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They dairy farmed in the Medford area for many years and Lucille was a homemaker, taking care of her family. She then did volunteer work and worked for the VFW and TP Printing.

Lucille was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, playing cards with friends, making crafts, traveling and camping.

Lucille is survived by her son, Robert (Diana) of Marion, Ohio; daughter, Ruth (Melvin) Thompson of Withee; five grandchildren, Michael, Amy, Kyle, Amber, and Jacob; six great-grandchildren, Lily, Cady, Lucas, Mallory, Allison, and Gavin; brother, Norman Frenzel of Appleton. Lucille is further survived by other family and friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Erevin and Lawrence, and sister, Beatrice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family for use at a later date.
