Steve Larson Steve Larson

1949-2022

Steven surrounded by his family, went to God’s Heavenly Home Dec. 4, 2022. He was born at home in the town of Green Grove to Perry Oliver Larson and Lorena (Wagner) Larson. As a child Steve loved to fish, hunt, camp and horse ride. Not being very interested in school his teachers said he would be nothing but a ditch digger. Steve said, if he would have known how great ditch diggers got paid he would have started much sooner. LOL. He graduated in 1969. He was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam. After his service he moved to Chicago and worked on home construction. He met his wife Bonnie in 1972. They had moved back to Medford, and were married on Aug. 26, 1975 in an outside wedding hosted at Bonnie’s parents farm. Steve and Bonnie worked as a husband and wife semi truck driving team. This allowed them to travel thru out the states and visit many parts of the US, Mexico and Canada. When they were ready to start a family Steve was asked to work for Kloth Construction. He drove gravel truck at first until he was able to accomplish his dream of being a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was very good at this job. He had the gift of seeing grade. He made any machine look like a hand moving dirt. I always said he was off to see his other ladies (heavy equipment machines) when he left for the spring construction season. He was living his dream job and profession and he felt blessed he was able to do that in this life.

He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, President of the Moon Lite Sno Cats for many years. He organized many snowmobile poker runs each year to raise money for bridges, trail cleaning, talking to landowners to allow snowmobile trails across their land. Worked to get ATVs to be allowed on trails.

In his later years he did accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. As the bible says there is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus and the blood he shed for us. Steve believed as the bible says, Love your God and have no other above him. Love ourselves and love your neighbor as yourself. Our job on earth is to let all God’s people know what Christ did for us. The Lord commands us to win souls back by bringing them to accept Christ as Savior so they may have eternal life in heaven. His goal was to have all his friends in heaven with him for eternity.

Steve is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Kloth) Larson; children, Keith (Beth) Larson, Barbara (Bryan) Schultz, Sharon (Alan) Whetstone, Nancy (Dale) Kraegenbrink; thirteen grandchildren, Rebbecca, Nicolas, Jaxson, Asher, Chantal, Jasmine, Samson, Delilah, Destiny, Samuel, Austin, Alex and Braeden; 3 great-grandchildren, twins, Brooklyn and Julianna and Aaron; his brother, Kenny (Pauline) Larson, Chet (Roxann) Larson; his sister, Kerry (Larson) Kopp.

He was preceded in death by his father, Perry Larson; his mother, Lorena (Wagner) Larson; sisters, Leola (Robert) Anderson, Arla Tuner, Debbie Larson; brothers, Larry Larson, Arlan (Butch) Larson; and son-in-law, Dale Kraegenbrink.

Steve’s last wishes were to sprinkle his ashes in the Maple woods where he made maple syrup for many years. And to have a celebration of his life on a beautiful spring day with all family, friends and neighbors. He did not want any mourning because he loved his life and wants to celebrate all the wonderful people who made it special for him. He always had such a quick humorous come back and that smile, blue eyes and dimples were hard to resist! He will be truly missed.
