Catherine E. Dassow

1929-2022

Catherine E. Dassow, 93, of Whittlesey, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022 at her home. A Funeral Mass for Catherine took place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022 at OLPH Catholic Church. Burial followed at OLPH Catholic Cemetery. Visitation took place at the OLPH Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. A rosary service took place at 9 a.m.

Catherine was born on Oct. 4, 1929 to Joseph and Susan (Kellner) Stauner in Medford. She married Oscar Dassow on Oct. 27, 1951; he preceded her in death in 1976. She was a homemaker on the family farm and would help milking the cows. She was devoted to her family and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Catherine was a devoted member of OLPH Catholic Church and prayed the rosary daily. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, and going to garage sales.

Catherine is survived by her children, Judy Schuh of Withee, Ken (Debra) Dassow of Medford, Pam (Danny) Harrell of Gilmore, TX, Jeff (Shirley) Dassow and Greg (Ann) Dassow, both of Medford; grandchildren, Scott, Shelley, Sandi, Sarah, Amber, Ashly, Rebecca, and Mary Kay; great-grandchildren, Chris, Mike, Paxton, Alexa, Ava, Felicity, Liam, Haylea, Sadie, and Mattie; brothers-in-law, Manny Gilles, Ed Dassow, and Richard Jensen; sister-in-law Margaret Stauner. Catherine is further survived by other family and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Oscar; daughter, Beverly Dassow; grandson, Travis; 12 siblings.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Catherine’s name may be given to OLPH Catholic Church.
