eader 1961-2 022 Thomas “Tweety” Leader, age 61 of Medford, town of Holway, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 16, 2022 after a courageous battle with lung cancer while under the care of Hope Hospice. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Fr. Jayanna Kanna officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Little Black. Visitation was from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Tweety was born Apr. 11, 1961 in Medford to Agnes (Kraemer) and Edward Leader Jr. He graduated from Medford High School, class of 1980. He resided in Medford and worked for Jochimsen Inc., then Weather Shield and finally for Peterson Construction for many years until he retired in 2017. He then worked for a short time at Meyer Mfg. until his illness no longer allowed him to work. Tweety was also a volunteer fireman for Stetsonville for many years.

He loved spending time outdoors and was a member of the Pine Creek Riders Snowmobile Club; and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. His favorite place to hunt was Minong, Wis.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Jean; daughter, Mariah, both of Medford; father, Edward (step-mother, Connie) Leader of Birchwood; siblings, Kathy (Wally) Thom of Birchwood, Deb (Jim) Fleischmann of Steuben, Cindy (William “Pip”) Gilgenbach of Mission, TX, Tim (Jessie) Leader of Grand Meadow, Minn.; step-siblings, Colleen (Mike) Wenzel, Las Vegas, Nev., and Al (Vi) Helland, Denmark, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family and will be designated at a later date.
