Stanley D. Warminski, Jr., 84 of Stanley, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at Marshfield Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Mar. 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley. Burial will follow on Monday, March 7 in the Oakland Cemetery at 11 a.m. after a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1938 to the late Kate (Pawlik) and Stanley Warminski, Sr. Stan grew up on the family farm and married his childhood sweetheart Cynthia Lockhart on June 20, 1958 in Neillsville.

Stan logged and farmed during his working years, and had two sons, Stanley III and Steve. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving tractor, and listening to polka music. His favorite polka band was Cynor Polka Band and his favorite song was Pillow That You Dream On.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cindy; two sons, Stan (Donna) Warminski III and Steve Warminski both of Stanley; grandchildren, Rachel (Ben) Potaczek, Craig (Mindy) Warminski, Elaina (Jacob) Hoffstatter, Clint Warminski, Steven (Alicia) Warminski and Stephanie (Kraig James) Warminski; 4 great-grandchildren, Brady, Lauren, Megan and Ryan and many nieces and nephews. He is further survived by Cynthia’s siblings, Sam and Linda Lockhart of Wausau, Dan Lockhart of Colorado Springs, Walter Lockhart of Cornell, Charlie Wilbur of Stanley, and Marian Lockhart of Abbotsford.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Amelia Malecki, Edna Podolak and Eugenia Wisnewski; and one brother, Eugene.
