Sharon Beilfuss, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at Country Gardens in Medford where she had resided since 2018.

A Funeral Mass took place at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Tuesday, Mar. 1. Burial followed at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Visitation took place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Tuesday, Mar. 1 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Sharon was born on Apr. 20, 1937, in Medford to Gerald and Evelyn (Olson) Fahrenbach and attended Medford public schools graduating in 1955. On July 27, 1956, she married Leo Beilfuss and they were together 62 years before Leo’s passing in 2019.

She frequently enjoyed a cup of coffee and stories with her many friends who she appreciated so much. Sharon always welcomed new neighbors and the house was often filled with the friends of her children or old relatives who stopped by for a quick visit. Everyone was considered an important part of the family.

Contributing to the community she lived in was important to Sharon who was active in the Friends of the Downtown and Friends of the Library. Art was also a big part of her life. Oil or watercolor paintings in various stages of completion were always on an easel in the living room. She was fond of gardening, ceramics, crafts, quilting, movies and attending performances of area arts. Sharon worked at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County and then Mid-Wisconsin Bank until her retirement. Sharon and Leo raised five children with humor and tolerance. They created a safe and loving environment for Scott (Norma) of Grand Junction, Colo., Ann Schiefelbien (Tim) of Strum, Patrick (Tracy) of Menomonie, Doug (Patty) of Madison, and Justin of Redwood Valley, Calif.

She is survived by her children; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Sharon’s family would like to thank Country Gardens for their compassionate care over the last four years.
