Gary A. Messmann

1946-2022

Gary A. Messmann, 75, of Stetsonville, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022 at Abbotsford Healthcare Center, under the care of Hope Hospice.

A celebration of life will take place at the Stetsonville Centennial Hall on Saturday, Mar. 5, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. Gary was born on July 28, 1946 to Herman Sr. and Ella (Bauman) Messmann in the Township of Little Black. After his schooling he worked for the family business. He then went on to work for Brecke Mink Ranch and lastly the Dorchester Coop until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Janice Neuman on June 18, 1988 in Medford; she survives.

Gary enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers, playing cards, and spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by his wife, Janice Messmann of Stetsonville; daughter, Melissa (Thomas) Zak of Stetsonville; grandchildren, Chelsea (Brandon Mallo) Zak, Megan (Jed) Peissig, Jordan Zak, and Holly (Ethan Kramas) Zak; great-grandson, Jackson Kramas; sisters, Marlene Vircks and Betty Vircks; sisters-in-law, Ruth Messmann and Susie Messmann. Gary is further survived by other family and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, David Messmann, Herman Messmann Jr., Joyce Raasch; brothers-in-law, Marlin Vircks, Bill Raasch, and Jack Vircks; parents-in-law Jim Sr. and Ruby Neuman.
