Norman A. Scheuer, 83, of Medford, town of Greenwood, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 while under the care of his family and Hope Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 12 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday at the church. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Whittlesey.

Norman was born Nov. 25, 1938 to Andrew and Frances (Monheim) Scheuer. He attended Rib Lake schools. Norman grew up and worked on the family farm. He also worked construction and did logging before enlisting in the U.S. Army National Guard. He proudly served from 1959-1964. On Nov. 12, 1966, he married Patricia Thieme. They resided in the town of Greenwood where Norman worked for Weathershield in Medford until his retirement. Patricia preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 1984.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, canning, bowling, and was a talented carpenter helping others with many woodworking projects. He had a fulfilled life with family and friends.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Scott (Lori) Scheuer of Medford; grandchildren, Katie (Jason) Reidner of Stetsonville, Jacquelyn (Christopher) Amborn of Medford, and Alexis Scheuer; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Schilling and Elaine Mravik, both of Medford; in-laws, Gerald (Gail) Thieme and Mary Ellen (Ron) Kauer, all of Rib Lake; many nieces, nephews and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Brenda Angela Scheuer in infancy; his wife, Patricia; his mother and father-in-law, Theresa and Elmer Thieme; sisters, Lucille (Jim) Daellenbach, Betty (Clarence) Wisniewski, Marion (Harvey) Peche; in-laws, Bill Schilling, Mike Mravik, Helen (Bill) Barnes, and Harvey (Gwynne) Thieme.
