Brenda Rae Barr

Brenda Rae Barr, 58, of New York City, N.Y., formerly of Mundelein, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, New York.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 28 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake with Fr. Timothy Barr officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Brenda was born June 28, 1963 to Duane and Carol (Guzinski) Barr. She graduated from Mundelein High School, class of 1981.

Following high school, she continued her education and pursued her dreams at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and graduated with a degree in fashion design. Brenda’s career as an independent fashion designer and stylist took her to many places around the world and her work has been featured in photo shoots in national magazines such as Bride Magazine and Rolling Stone Magazine. She has worked with companies such as Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger, Lands End, and Eileen Fischer, just to name a few.

She is survived by her mother, Carol Barr of Garden Prairie, Ill.; siblings, Kimberly (Jim) Livasci of Waukegan, Ill., Terry (Jennifer) Barr of Wauconda, Ill., Rick (Wendy) Barr of Sturtevant, and Fr. Timothy Barr of Freeport, Ill.; many aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Duane Barr.
