Michael E. Rantanen Sr.

1939-2021

Michael E. Rantanen Sr., 82, of Westboro, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 at Rib Lake Health Services.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at Mount Olive Cemetery, Westboro with military honors given by the Westboro VFW post #7817. He was born Feb. 23, 1939 to Virginia (Christiansen) and Arnold Ryan.

Following high school, Michael served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1961.

On June 17, 1967, he married Susan Anderson in Milwaukee. They resided in Milwaukee, then Saukville before moving to the Westboro area in 1995. He worked for Wisconsin Electric.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Jr. of Westboro, Joseph of West Bend; sister-in-law, Jan Rantanen; brother-in-law, Richard Anderson; lifelong best friend, Lewayne “Wayne” Tiedke; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Lucas) Schult, Nathan Rantanen; great-grandchildren Ashton, Colton, Parker and Kallen Schult.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue on April 6, 2018; and a brother, Patrick.
