2001-2021

Kyle Roger Petrick, 20, of Medford, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 in Sparta as the result of a car accident.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 23 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford with Rev. Daniel Iwinski officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and again from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m., Saturday, all at the church.

He was born Sept. 24, 2001 in Medford to Roger and Melissa (Block) Petrick. He graduated from Medford High School, class of 2020. During high school, Kyle played hockey, and ran both track and cross country.

Kyle was happiest when he was outdoors. He enjoyed fishing in Washburn with his dad; hunting in Westboro near his grandparents; ice fishing; snowmobiling; and four-wheeling. From a very young age, Kyle was always working on some vehicle, whether it was a four-wheeler, snowmobile, car or truck, to make it work better, go faster, or run louder. On his four-wheeler, he could do wheelies for miles! He also loved “rolling coal” in his diesel truck. He enjoyed building and putting snowmobiles together, and recently purchased his own.

Kyle was a hard worker and had a great work ethic. He enjoyed his current job working construction for Janke Construction in Athens. He also had his own window tinting business, which he started while still in high school, “KPS Performance.” Also during high school, he plowed snow for Prochnow’s.

He will be sadly missed by his parents, Roger and Missy Petrick; his sister, Kelli, all of Medford; paternal grandparents, Susan and Jeff Peterson of Westboro; maternal grandmother, Vera Ann Block (Norby Fechelm) of Stetsonville; aunts and uncles, Toni (Dave) Smith of Dorchester, Bobbie (Roger) Smith, Mike (Crystal) Ecklund, Kris Woebbeking, all of Medford; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Roger Petrick; and maternal grandfather, Warren Block.
