Margaret “Peggy” A. Goessl, age 79, of Abbotsford, completed her journey with dementia surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Country Terrace in Abbotsford under the tender care of Heartland Hospice.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at St.

Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford.

Father Timothy Oudenhoven presided.

Interment was held in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends were welcomed on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Family and friends unable to attend in person could watch the vigil and service live on the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.

Peggy was born on April 15, 1942, the daughter of Norbert and Margaret (Meyer) Danen in Medford. She graduated from Medford High School in 1961. Peggy was united in marriage to Peter Goessl on July 29, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1997. She worked as a seamstress at home while raising her children and later at Badger Basket.

Peggy also worked as a CNA at various facilities as well as a waitress for restaurants in the area. She was also a member of the Abbotsford Lions Club. Most importantly, she loved and cherished her family.

Peggy is survived by eight children: Donald, Karen (Wayne) Morrow, Lisa (Lawrence) White, Karleen (Dan) Bakke, Wendy (John) Miller, Vickie (Dean) Tomczak, James (Jennifer) and Annette (Jeremy) Wiese; 19 grandchildren: Christopher, Amber, Jason, Lawrence, Brianna, Heather, Ryan, Kyle, Jennifer, Steven, Tia, Dylan, Justin, Hayley, Sarah, Jasmine, Michael, Keith and Misty; eight great-grandchildren: Ashton, Amelia, Sydney, Shyanne, Bristol, Reika, Taylon and LilyAnna. She is further survived by her siblings: Raymond (Carolyn) Danen, John (Karen) Danen, Judy Nackers, Carolyn (John) Reynolds, Betty Danen and Dorothy Danen; her brother-in-law, Richard Paulini; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Carl; a brother, Daniel and a sister, Shirley Paulini.
