Catherine “Kitty” L. Grambort, age 87, of Abbotsford, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at the Colby Retirement Community in Colby under the tender care of Heartland Hospice. A memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at St.

Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford.

Father Timothy Oudenhoven presided.

Interment was held in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery in Abbotsford. Family and friends were welcomed on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Family and friends unable to attend in person could watch the vigil and service live on the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.

Kitty was born on June 10, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Loretta (Bauer) Froeba. She attended St. Anthony Parochial School and graduated from Loyal High School. On December 13, 1952, Kitty was united in marriage to Ronald “Stub” Grambort at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2014.

Kitty and Stub lived in Abbotsford and she worked at the Abbotsford nursing home for many years. In 1992, they retired and moved to Lake Tomahawk and moved back to Abbotsford in 2013.

Kitty is survived by her four sons: Gary (Tammy) Grambort of Colo., Randy (Kathy) Grambort of Abbotsford, Dennis (Lori) Grambort of Medford and Jeff Grambort of Abbotsford; grandchildren: Lindsay (Matt) Ried, Jen (Adam) Sutton, Abbey (Travis) Frischmann, Jessica Grambort (Andrew Brehm), Clint (Lynn) Grambort, Jason Grambort and Josh Grambort; greatgrandchildren: Hunter, Haylee, Peyton, Paisley, Parker, Devon, Trevor, Jacob, Kayden, Ella, Greyson, Tristan, Brooklyn, Jada, Kenzie, Connor and Caroline. She is further survived by sisters: Viola Uhlig, Nancy (Jim) Steinbach, Marceil Russell and Sandy (Jerry) Noeldner; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; sister, Evelyn and brothers: Tom, Ronald, Herb and Raymond.

Kitty’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Colby Retirement Community and Heartland Hospice for the compassionate care she received.
