David P. Brost

1941-2021

David P. Brost, 80, of Medford, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at Abbotsford Healthcare Center, under the care of Hope Hospice.

A funeral Mass took place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Mc Connell and Father Frederick Brost officiating. Burial followed at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation took place at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

David was born on August 1, 1941 to George and Leona (Gelhaus) Brost in Medford. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Medford High School in 1960. After school he worked at the Brost Motel. He then built and operated the Nova Movie Theater. In his spare time he enjoyed driving around in his car with his dog, Peter. He married Elsie Kitts on Aug. 18, 1997 and she preceded him in death in 2005.

David is survived by his brothers, Father Frederick P. Brost of Medford and John M. Brost of Wauwatosa; sisters, Patricia L. (Lorin) Schneider-Nickley of La Crosse, Donna R. (John Giordano) Yamasaki of Goleta, Calif., and Janice Brost of Milwaukee. David is further survived by other family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary L. Andenson, Audrey J. Jindirch, Eva E. Bois, Sister Georgia M. Brost OS.F, Nancy Brost, Richard P. Brost, and Robert G. Brost.
