Keith M. Gorichs, 85, Medford died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. Funeral services for Keith were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford with Rev. Rodger Prois officiating. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Military rites were performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Burial took place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers were family members, Jacob and David Eckmann, Nicholas Gorichs, Willis Ziemer, Alex and James Imbach.

Keith was born on Feb. 13, 1935 in Whittlesey to August and Florence (Fruzen) Gorichs. He attended Chelsea Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of Medford High School. His first marriage took place on May 23, 1964 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford to Patricia A. Ziemer and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 1991. His second marriage took place on July 10, 1993, also at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford to Kathleen A. Heier and she survives.

After his education, Keith served from 1955 to 1959 in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division. He also served for two years with the National Guard prior. He worked for 43 years at Weather Shield Manufacturing in Medford until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed cards, fishing, traveling and serving as an honor guard with the Medford Area Military Honors Team. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford and the Medford VFW Club. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Gorichs of Medford; children, Pamela (David) Eckmann and Scott (Valerie) Gorichs, both of Wausau, and Sarah (James) Imbach of Whittlesey. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob Eckmann, Nicholas and Benjamin Gorichs, and Alex Imbach; along with his great-grandchildren, Ashton and Easton Imbach; siblings, Gerald (Barb) Gorichs of Norwell, Mass., John “Jack” (Joan) Gorichs of Medford and Shirley Floryance of New Berlin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; and sisters, Donna Glamann, Sandy Anderson and Betty Gorichs in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, 225780 Rib Mountain Drive #234, Wausau, WI 54401 in Keith’s name.
