1947-2020

William “Butch” Lee Maes, 72, formerly of Rib Lake, passed away at his home in Rising Sun, Md. on March 30, 2020 with his loving family by his side. Services were held on Tuesday, April 7 at Crouch Funeral Home in North East, Md. Burial was held at Brookview Cemetery in Rising Sun, Md. Bill was born in Chicago, Ill. on July 21, 1947 to the late Earl Benjamin Maes and Betty Lorraine (March) Keith. He proudly served his country as a corporal in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. After the war, he worked for Michigan Bell Telephone, Weather Shield, and retired after 30 years with Plasticoid Company in Elkton, Md. He was a member of Janes United Methodist Church in Rising Sun, Md. Bill enjoyed his kids, wrestling and fishing.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Linda “Lyn” (Davis) Maes; children, William (Kimberly) Maes, Brandon (Pixie) Maes, Kimberly (Aaron) Williams and Ryan (Susan) Maes; siblings, Thomas Granno, Russell (Lynette) Pfefferle, Daniel (Karen) Maes, James (Susan) Maes, Deborah Hathaway and Eula Pankey; grandchildren, William “Billy” Earl (Claire) Maes, Samantha (Hunter) Keilani Maes and Kayleigh Da’nu Williams; mother-in-law, Betty Davis; and stepmother, Norma Tanner (Ariz.).

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Michael (Virginia) Maes, Patricia (Joe) Miller and Anita “Mousie” Hester; and son, Michael “Mikey” Maes.
