Lawrence “Larry” A. Hartman, 88, of Mukwonago, passed away on Jan. 17, 2020 at Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Services, W309S4840 Commercial Drive, North Prairie, NW corner of Hwy’s 83 and 59. Father Dennis Ackeret will officiate and military honors will follow the services. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Larry was born on Oct. 28, 1931 to Lawrence and Mary (Emmerich) Hartman in Medford. He married Marlene Pogatetz on Aug. 1, 1953 in Medford. He graduated from Medford High School, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era, returned to Medford, and later moved to the Mukwonago area with his wife Marlene. Larry was a man of faith, a member of St. Theresa Parish in Eagle. He was also a man who kept himself busy, he was always known to be welding something or outside working with fieldstones and creating pathways, walls and the like. Larry enjoyed his time with his tree nursery. He also deeply loved and cherished his family and the time he was allowed with them.

Larry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marlene of Mukwonago; four children, Jeffrey (Debbie) Hartman, Kelly Vinge, Nancy Kratochvil and Marie Paszkiewicz; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Joseph, Matthew, Sam, Jonathan, Daniel and Steven; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many good friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Dorothy Spittlemiester; his son-in-law, David Kratochvil; his granddaughter, Hannah; two sisters; and a brother.

Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be directed to the family for distribution to his favorite charities at a later date.
