Shirley Weinzatl Shirley Weinzatl

1955-2019

Shirley Weinzatl passed away on Nov. 8, 2019. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake from 9 a.m. until the memorial mass at 11 a.m. with Father Hrudaya Raju Sunkara officiating. Immediately following the mass, there will be a procession to St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery for the committal service. Shirley was born in Medford on Monday, Feb. 28, 1955, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Griffin) Ulczycki. She was a resident of Rib Lake her entire life. On July 19, 1974, Shirley was united in marriage to Andrew Weinzatl at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rib Lake. She ran the family farm with her husband for 17 years and was later employed by Phillips Plastics in quality control for 13 years. She was a purchaser and seller of morel mushrooms for Hill’s Morel Mushrooms in the spring and enjoyed making and selling Christmas wreaths in the fall. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Phillips, watching and listening to the loons, enjoying the sunsets and shaking dice with friends and family. Some other pastimes she enjoyed were a good cribbage game, quilting, traveling to various places and fishing. But most of all, Shirley loved her family, especially her grandchildren and their many adventures.

Shirley will be dearly missed by her husband, Andy; children, Shawn (Kim) Weinzatl and Brenda Maier, all of Rib Lake, Chad Weinzatl of Merrill and Brad (Kayla) Weinzatl of Unity; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, Dave Ulczycki of Chicago, Ill., Larry (Dorothy) Ulczycki of Rib Lake and Charlie (Jodi) Ulczycki of Williams Bay; two sisters, Nancy (Dave Yeiter) Hill of Pine Island, Fla. and Karen Peche of Indianapolis, Ind.; and by very dear friends, Bev Tesch, Judy Rusnak and Janet Hemminger. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen Ulczycki; and by one brother, Tom Ulczycki.
