Eugenia “Jean” W. Lorenz, age 88, of Stanley, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She grew up on a farm in the Town of Maplehurst, rural Withee, along with her 10 brothers and sisters. Jean was united in marriage to John L. Lorenz in Oct. of 1951, and they had three children; John, Theresa, and Daniel Lorenz. She retired from GMAC where she worked as a secretary, and later owned and operated the Buckhorn Store and Campground in Necedah, for several years.

Jean had many interests, but especially loved reading, working crossword puzzles, gardening and playing the organ with a song in heart.

She is survived by her three children, John (Betty) Lorenz of Lublin, Theresa Lorenz (Patrick Graf) of Medford, and Daniel (Carol) Lorenz of Janesville; three step-children, Josue (Michelle) Lorenz of Plainview, Minn., Patricia (Trish) (Dale) Windschitl of Zumbro Falls, Minn., and Eric Lorenz of Lake City, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Becky (Mike) Williams, Bridget Lorenz, Jesse (Amber) Horvath, Michael (Sheena) Lorenz, Jessica (Nate) Munsterman, Caitlin (Brandon) Harnisch and Lynzee Pinkert; 12 great-grandchildren, Michelle (Billie) Cahoon, Alex Williams, Caden Horvath, Pierce, Thea, and Asher Lorenz, Elijah, Annaka and Jonas Munsterman, Reese, Hezekiah and Raleigh Harnisch; and five great-great grandchildren, Grace, Chloe, Kendyl, Tanner and Bronson Cahoon. Jean is also survived by one brother, Benjamin (Cathy) Wisniewski; one sister, Winifred “Winnie” Niznik; one brother-in-law, Joseph “Joe” Mrozik; John “Wayne” (Patricia) Armstrong, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John “Jack” Lorenz and Richard Glowienke; close companion, Daniel Skord; her loving parents, Lucien and Geraldine “Gabrielle” Wisniewski; three brothers, Mitchell (Bonnie) Wisniewski, Robert “Bob” (Darlene) Wisniewski, William “Bill” (Leona) Wisniewski; and five sisters, Geraldine “Gerry” (Russ) Hamachek, Bibian “Bea” (Edward) Witek, Dorothy (Gene) Zakrzewicz, Barbara Wisniewski and Loretta “Lori” Mrozik.

The celebration of life and a mass service will be held next Spring, which was her favorite season.
