Violet Kay Godersky

1944-2026

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Matthew Godersky; her son, Richard D. Godersky; her father, Otto F. Peters; and mother, Vanzie (Smith) Peters. She is survived by her children, Lisa M. Hince, Thomas S. Godersky, and Kim L. Higdon; her grandchildren, Joseph S. Skibbie, Jacob A. Skibbie, Sara A. Skibbie, Leslie Leu, Lonnie Leu Jr., Shelbilyn Denise Godersky, and Thomas Richard Godersky; and her great-grandchildren, Landyn, Luka, and Lawson Leu.

Violet was born on Aug. 7, 1944, in Port Washington. Violet and Richard owned and operated Dick and Vi’s Resort in Spirit Lake. She spent an enjoyable retirement in Florida, then cherished five years at Mary Queen of Angels in Nashville, Tenn., to be near her daughter Kim. During her final years, she looked forward to daily phone calls from her son, Thomas, who faithfully kept in touch with her. She enjoyed being around others and formed many wonderful friendships. and during her final year, she returned to northern Wisconsin.
