Ruth E. Zimmermann

Ruth E. Zimmermann of Oconomowoc, passed to eternal life on Sept. 18, 2026 at Azura Memory & Assisted Living Care in Brookfield, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Carina Schiltz officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home for visitation starting at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia, immediately following the service. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Watertown is serving the family. Ruth was born on March 30, 1929 at Jump River, the daughter of Floyd and Esther (nee Hink) Nelson. She married Robert L. Zimmermann on April 3, 1948. Robert and Ruth farmed on a dairy farm in the Ashippun Community for several years and were co-owners of Zimmermann Ford Tractor in Watertown. Ruth also worked at the H&R Block in Lake Mills until retirement.

Surviving are Ruth’s sons, Robert F. (Rita) Zimmermann, of Watertown, and Samuel Zimmermann; three grandchildren, David (Alicia) Zimmermann, Robert F. (Amanda) Zimmermann, Jr., and Cassandra (Willie) DeJesus; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

Ruth was an avid sports fan. Her favorite teams were the Cubs and the Packers. She also enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a card club for many years. Ruth enjoyed sewing and reading. Ruth was also a 4-H leader.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Margaret; parents; sister, Florence; and brother, Donald.
