Dorothy Elaine Scheibe, age 92, of Stetsonville, went to her heavenly home Thursday, March 5, 2026 surround by her loving family, under the tender care of Hope Hospice. Dorothy was born Sept. 22, 1933, the daughter of Mike and Ella (Schafer) Gumz in the town of Little Black, Wisconsin. She graduated from Medford High School in 1951, she then waitressed at Abby Café. She married Donald Scheibe on May 25, 1955 at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester. They were blessed with three children, Dennis, Daniel and Diane. Dorothy stayed at home to rear her children, while working on the farm she also worked part time at Abbotsford Supper Club and later at Tombstone Pizza in Medford, until her retirement in 1996.

Dorothy was a faithful and devoted member of Peace United Church of Christ. She was a member of the church’s Evening Circle, served many years on the church council, and prepared the church newsletter. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and bowling. She especially enjoyed bowling on the Senior Citizen bowling team in Dorchester. Above all, she loved and cherished spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons, Dennis (Julie) Scheibe, of Greenfield, and Daniel Scheibe, of Wisconsin Rapids; and one daughter, Diane (Pat) Lehman, of Phillips; and eight grandchildren, Sarah (Kenny) Buckler, of Louisville, Ky., Megan Scheibe, of Bellingham, Wash., Rebecca (Andrew) Bauer, of Cedarburg, Peter( Taylor) Scheibe, of Minnesota City, Minn., Stefanie (Kyle) Nelson, of Henderson, Colo., Erin (Geoff) Myers, of St. Paul, Minn., Gabrielle Lehman, of Burnsville, Minn., and Nicholas Lehman, of Phillips. She is further survived by eleven greatgrandchildren, Theo and Caleb Buckler, Sam, Lewis and Irma Mayer, Adeline and Emerson Bauer, Blair Scheibe, Sawyer Nelson, Claire, and Nora Myers.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Edward, Fred, George and infant brother Vernon; one brother-in-law, Robert Scheibe; one sister-in-law; Mary Adams; and one grandson, Elliot Lehman.

The family would like to thank Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Medford for all of their care and support, as well as Rev. Teri, and our caring friends and neighbors.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford, with Rev. Teri Hanson officiating. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with arrangements.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Taylor County Hope Hospice & Palliative Care in Medford in honor of Dorothy.
