Camaraderie through music: Vets invited to join upcoming class
Bruce Hadler (2nd from left), Army veteran from Loyal, is shown as part of the fall 2025 Vets & Guitars cohort at their graduation. Every fall and spring, Victoria Shoemaker (center) teaches a 10-week course at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park Welcome Center for veterans to learn to play guitar. Instruments and music are provided free of charge. Hadler encouraged other veterans to participate, even if they don't have a musical background, saying it provided a great opportunity for camaraderie and sharing an experience with other veterans. Beginning Acoustic Guitar classes will be held on Thursdays at 4:30 p.m., starting March 19. People should contact Theresa Hebert at 715-743-4224 for more information or to register.
