Pedro Cruz
Pedro Cruz, age 51, of Abbotsford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford and on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until processing to the church at 11:15 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Saint Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father Keith Kitzhaber will preside. Interment to follow at Abbotsford Public Cemetery.
The honor of pallbearers for Pedro will be Jairo Cruz, Alfonso Cruz, Horacio Cruz, Jesus Cruz, Pedro Cruz, Jr., Anthony Cruz and Marisa Cruz.
Pedro was born on June 2, 1974, the son of Alfonso Cruz and Elena Acosta in Zacatecas, Mexico. He was united in marriage to Tania Sanfilipo on June 7, 1996, in Mundelein, 111. Pedro owned and operated Cruz Landscaping proudly with his brothers.
Pedro was a faithful and devoted Catholic. He proudly danced the Mexican Feather Dance at every joyous occasion. Pedro was also devoted to his family and proud supporter of their activities, especially baseball. He especially loved seeing his children smile when they got their broken toy fixed. Nothing was ever broken unless he couldn’t fix it.
Pedro is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tania; three children: Marisa (Colbin Schilling), Pedro Jr. and Anthony; a granddaughter, Viviana; his parents: Alfonso and Elena; eight brothers and sisters: Uvaldina (Leo), Jairo (Laura), Martha (Jose), Alfonso (Marisol), Rosalba (Rogelio), Horacio (Cony), Guadalupe (Salomon) and Jesus (Patty); nieces and nephews: Ivan C., Iris C., Jovanny C., Osmel C., Osmar C., Cynthia Yahaira S., Cynthia S..Roxanne S.,John S., Mayra S., Samuel C., Jonathan A., Rogelio A., Yaniel C., Stephany C., Zahir C., Elizabeth C., Maribel C., Gabriel C., David C., Asalia D., Tania D., Cristian G., Jenny G., Allyson C., Alexa C., as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Pascual and his nephew, Jairo, Jr.
