Judith “Judie” Ann Wegner
Judith Ann Wegner, lovingly known as Judie, 86, Thorp, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family, Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, under the tender care of Cornell Health Services.
Born Jan. 20, 1939, in Milwaukee, to Frank and Irene (Ostrowski) Kupinski, Judie was raised with a deep sense of family and community.
Judie’s life was a testament to love and dedication.
She married the love of her life, Lyle E. Wegner, Feb. 27, 1960, and together, they shared a beautiful journey of 65 years, marked by unwavering partnership and boundless devotion. Their greatest joy arrived July 21, 1963, with the birth of their daughter, Eileen, who became the light of their lives.
Judie was admired for her strong work ethic, spending many dedicated years in factory work, before discovering her true passion in the restaurant industry, where she shared her warmth and kindness with everyone she met.
In the early 2000s, Judie and Lyle made their home in the welcoming town of Thorp, where Judie found endless joy in the company of her beloved daughter, son-in-law, Randy, grandchildren and cherished friends.
Her legacy lives on through those she leaves behind, including her devoted husband – Lyle; her treasured daughter – Eileen (Randy) Marten; her adoring grandchildren – Wesley (Casey) Marten, Tara Marten, Samantha (Cody) Hubbard and Winston Marten; as well as 10 great-grandchildren – Gage, Jarrod, Aydden, Ariona, Sierra, Morgan, Peyton, Ethan, Abraham and Wilder; two great-greatgrandchildren – Ryder and Oliver, who brought immeasurable joy to her heart; and is lovingly remembered by nieces; nephews; extended family and dear friends.
She is now reunited with those who went before her, including her loving parents; her brother – James “Jimmy” Kupinski; and her sister – Dolly.
A celebration of Judie’s remarkable life is at a later date, where her family and friends will gather, to share memories, laughter and the love that she bestowed upon all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the St. Croix Hospice team, for the compassionate care and support, provided to Judie and her family.
Judie’s gentle spirit and warm heart, will be forever cherished by those she touched.
