Medford, Rib Lake middle schools receive Packers Character grants
MANDEE ELLIS/THE STAR NEWS Grant Bub spoke to a crowd of thirteen community members at a meeting discussing broadband activity within the county at the Taylor County Education Center on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Bub went over the various funding programs and their carriers in Taylor County, which are Bug Tussel, Country Wireless, Starling and TDS. Bub provided the crowd with maps showing coverage areas, but due to changes with internet speeds and the definition of broadband, officials are struggling to keep up as they pursue grant opportunities. Bub expects the county’s programs to be funded and serviced by 2030, though some will likely be completed before that.
