WIAA membership approves NIL, more summer coaching contact
The Medford Archery Club is sending five archers and three coaches to the national tournaments in Louisville, Ky. May 8-10. They are (l. to r.) coach Marcus Emmerich, Wyllow Freudenthal (representing Medford Holy Rosary), Brock Anderson (representing MASH), Rylee Emmerich (representing MAES), coach Sara Emmerich, Ezra Hillebrand (representing MASH-RVA), Dylan Emmerich (representing MAMS) and coach Ryan Hillebrand. In the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Eastern National tournaments, Freudenthal, Ezra Hillebrand and Dylan Emmerich will compete in the bullseye shoot, while Freudenthal, Hillebrand and Anderson will be in the 3-D event. All five archers will take part in the Centershot bullseye Eastern National tournament. Emmerich won the Centershot middle school boys state championship in Wausau on April 12 with a score of 287, while Freudenthal won the elementary girls state title with a score of 286. Freudenthal, Hillebrand and Emmerich are entered in the Centershot 3-D national shoot. Freudenthal, Hillebrand and Ryan Hillebrand will also attend the JROTC IBO Genesis Eastern National shoot.
