A delegation of representatives from the Medford community, along with CEO Bob Foote of Weather Shield Manufacturing, recently met to discuss the acquisition of Weather Shield by Pella Windows and Doors.

Sue Ackerman, secretary/treasurer of the Medford Area Development Foundation, shared her thoughts on the meeting, saying, 'I enjoyed our meeting today and appreciated the opportunity to learn more. I’m excited for the future of our community and Weather Shield’s/Pella’s part in it.'

Adam Rodman, board member of The Chamber, also expressed optimism about the transition: “It’s exciting to think of the possibilities the addition of Pella will bring to Medford.”

During the meeting, Foote emphasized that Pella was pleased with the opportunity to acquire Weather Shield, citing its strong legacy in the premium segment of the window and door manufacturing industry. Pella’s goal is to build upon that history through the market opportunities presented by the combination of the two businesses. The company is currently hiring to expand its workforce here to meet growing production needs.

As a family-owned business, Pella is committed to supporting its employees and the communities they serve. Foote noted that Pella is eager to become an active and positive presence in Medford, exploring ways to contribute meaningfully to the community’s continued growth.
