Medford woman fighting to save her home
A combination of bad luck and health conditions has a local resident and her son turning to the community for help to save their home.
A GoFundMe page has been started for Terriesa Krueger, 59, of Medford, in hopes of raising enough for her to be able to keep the home where she and her disabled 36-year-old son, Justin, live with their 13 cats They have lived in their home for the past 15 years with Krueger noting it was the first home of her own. Krueger previously worked full time at Phillips Plastics which closed its Medford location and most recently was employed at Medford Cooperative. She had to leave that job due to health issues.
Krueger has been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis type one which shut down her liver and nearly took her life.
She also has adjustment anxiety so new things are very hard to do, major depression, IBS, migraines, rotator cuff issues, diverticulosis and sciatica issues.
“To say the least I struggle to get through the day and am not able to work fulltime,” she said. “I have applied for more than 60 jobs since I lost my job in November and have not been able to find one that meets my restrictions.”
Her medical conditions limit the number of hours she can work in a day and limits her to jobs where she interacts with customers or does not have the ability to leave when necessary.
Krueger’s son Justin has numerous mental disorders including: borderline personality disorder, life-long anxiety, major depressive disorder and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) along with spinal injuries. She explained that he has been out of work since 2018 and has applied and been denied for disability.
He currently has a hearing day scheduled and is optimistic that he will be granted disability. She said he is to the point of not being able to drive during the day or hold a job working with people. Krueger said she has also applied for disability, but has been denied and has appealed.
Krueger is seeking the charity of community members to help her catch up on her mortgage to avoid it being taken by the bank and leaving them homeless. She fears that given the age of her cats they will end up having to be put down.
