Jeremy Carolofi, network engineer with Country Wireless, spoke to the Gilman Village Board, Jan. 14, about a lease agreement, to install four transmitters on the water tower, to bring more high-speed internet options to the area. In return, the company can pay for the electric used by the transmitters, a flat rate or give in-kind service to the village, for several sites, such as at the sewer plant and park. Rep. Karen Hurd visited with the Medford School Board on January 26 and talked with members about the choices that were made in regard to educational funding in the current state budget.
