Although it ended up just being an exhibition match, the Hornets nonetheless gained some valuable experience, just ahead of their annual home tournament. Earning her team’s Best Takedown, was senior Abigail Moss (138 pounds), while sophomore Kaylee Reineke (107) had Best Falls and freshman Kaylee Stai (152) received Best Effort.

Cadott was then ready to take on the competition at home, facing off with 16 other programs, where they grappled their way to first place.

Individually, the undefeated Sonnentag (114) took first, winning over Danika Spets, of D.C. Everest, as well as celebrating her 100th victory and adding to that.

Placing third, were Reineke, who won over Barron’s Jorey Feidt; sophomore Tessa York (120), dropping her match with Mary Prescott, of Hudson; Moss, who won over Ladysmith’s Anna Krizan; and senior Molli York, winning over Madison Huffman, of Cameron.

Stai also placed high, finishing in fourth, after dropping her match to Kaitlyn Madlon, of Cornell-Lake Holcombe-Gilman, while sophomore Arianna Walker (126) was sixth and Taliann Donahue (132) dropped both her matches.
