Sunbeams and rays

“Here comes the sun; do do do doo. Here comes the sun and I’ll say, it’s all right.” Hooray the sun has been out for a good portion of the last week. That is exciting. It gave me the opportunity to mow a part of my lawn before getting rained out again (approximately fifteen minutes before the rain shower soaked the grass again) and, I didn’t have time to pick up the clippings or complete the rest of the lawn just yet. It looks a bit mismatched but focusing on the good is what I do. So, that means that the longest part of the grass is mowed and also the trimming around the deck and other bits and pieces are completed too. With my schedule recently, I should just mow parts of my lawn during lunch. Can you imagine just seeing a lady on her mower during the middle of the day with a sandwich in her hand, bouncing all around? The challenge would be the precision one would need to get the sandwich in a mouth without smashing it all over one’s face. Shall I say challenge accepted? All in all, having some sunshine and warm weather usually can brighten anyone’s day.
Now all normal words that could form into clear and concise sentences have escaped my mind and song lyrics are just a bouncing around, having a party in my mind. “Daydream. I dream of you amid the flowers. For a couple of hours. Such a beautiful day.” - Lupe Fiasco Daydreamin’ and of course we have The Beatles Here comes the Sun. Steal My Sunshine by Len is rolling in there too along with many others. All of these remind me of the good ‘ole 90s summers. I could probably give you a list of summer/sunshine songs. Oh and of course I couldn’t forget Summertime by Will Smith. The official summer song in my opinion. Once I hear that I know it is summertime in my heart. The Beach Boys have been rolling around in there too. You can never have too many good songs floating around in your noggin.
What are your songs that float around in your head on a daily or seasonally basis for summer? Are you originally from a different part of the world? What songs are THE summertime songs there? I would love to know so please feel free to share with me. I love learning all about different cultures and lifestyles. That is what makes the world what it is. Music has a way of bringing humans together, even different animals. Like a siren, the mythological creature that invites beings with their voice (In some seafaring lands it is thought that sirens lure people into a trance and lead them into an ocean to drown. That’s not the one I am thinking of - let’s go more Snow White vibe where the animals flock around to hear the beautiful notes reverberating off of the trees and such).
I hope you find your songs that light up your world today and all of your days. Also, if you see a woman trying to mow her lawn while eating lunch, give her a little wave. If it turns out not to be me then you have shared some sunshine with another person and that is always wonderful.
