Patricia “Pat” Jean (Bowen) Wolfe Patricia “Pat” Jean (Bowen) Wolfe

Patricia “Pat” Jean (Bowen) Wolfe, 93, Cornell, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, the morning of Wednesday, May 14, 2025, with her loving husband, Bill, by her side.

Pat was born March 7, 1932, and adopted by her parents, Claire and Forrest Farrell, who lived in Rockford, Ill., for her childhood and early adulthood.

She was married to Quentin “Bud” C. Bowen, from 1953, until his death in 2000.

Together, they had four children.

Pat worked as a special education teacher’s aide and enjoyed crafts of all kinds, puzzles, gardening and watching soap operas.

She and Bud lived in Illinois, until moving to Boyd, in 1976.

Pat delighted children with the assertion that Rice Krispie Treats were a good breakfast food, because they were made with cereal!

She found happiness again, Feb. 14, 2001, and married William “Bill” C. Wolfe, of Cornell, happily joining his large family.

Pat and Bill built a beautiful new home together on EE, in Cornell, where they have lived the past 24 years. She felt much joy in their home, displaying the many trophy deer mounts that Bill and his sons bagged over the years.

Upon entering the “Wolfe Museum,” you would be amazed at all the other wildlife mounts, including a buffalo and two elk that Bill got on a hunting excursion that they went on out west, one of the many trips she and Bill enjoyed together.

Pat loved to go to the casino and play the machines. They enjoyed Friday night fish fries at Ted’s Timberlodge, with their friends and family.

She was a soft spoken, thoughtful and very generous lady, who helped all her children along the way. She was always willing to have a party or holiday gathering at her house.

Pat adored her husband, Bill, and they enjoyed 24 wonderful years together, doing things together in their senior years, joking around and she was always willing to go with him anywhere, until her health declined, yet she was very content sitting in her recliner, with her cat, Callie, and her dogs, Toby and Jack by her feet, and with a book in her hand.

There was always a dish of Hershey’s bars and freshly made caramels that her daughter, Peggy, made and sent in the mail, a box of Fannie May candy, or a yummy baked treat from Jean or Betty, that she insisted you try.

“MaMa Pat” will be deeply missed and always remembered as the beautiful mom, wife and grandma in the blue chair – blue was her favorite color.

She is survived by three daughters – Deborah (Douglas) Ladd, Margaret (Thomas) Jefferson and Katherine (Joseph) Splinter; her grandchildren – Melica, Blake, Rebecca, Vanessa, Laura, Tyler, Rachael and Marissa; 10 greatgrandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; husband – Bill; eight stepchildren – Austa Dalton, Juanita Wolfe, Doris Rybold, Wyatt (Vicki) Wolfe, Clifton (Lorna) Wolfe, Willis (Jill) Wolfe, Dewey (Crystal) Wolfe and Alice (Scott) Clark; stepdaughter-in-law – Sue Wolfe; 21 stepgrandchildren; 28 stepgreat-grandchildren; two step-great-greatgrandchildren; her furry friends – Callie, Toby and Jack; and several sisters and brothers in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband – Bud; her son – Charles “Chuck” Bowen, in 1963, at four years old; her oldest stepson – Wesley Ray Wolfe; and stepsons-in-law – Will Dalton and Steve Rybold.

The family would like to thank the St. Croix Hospice team and the Cornell Area Care Center, for the loving care they all gave Pat.
