NASP ARCHERY - Archers from Gilman, Medford take their shots at Eastern Nationals

The Gilman Pirate Archery Club earned a 34th-place team finish in the 3-D portion of the US Eastern Nationals and a 41stplace team finish in the bullseye shoot during competition May 8-10 in Louisville, Ky.
The Medford Archery Club also had a handful of archers involved in the competition. The bullseye shoot attracted 14,444 archers, including 7,454 boys and 6,990 girls, while the 3-D shoot brought 6,471 entries, including 3,336 boys and 3,135 girls.
Gilman’s team scores came in the high school division. Using the top four male and top two female scores, including some middle schoolers, Gilman had a 3-D team score of 1,673 to rank 34th out of 162 teams. Hartland High School of Michigan won the team championship with 1,734 points.
Terran Schleis of Gilman was the top local 3-D archer. He ranked 28th out of 1,160 high school boys with a score of 292 out of a possible 300. Medford’s Ezra Hillebrand was 104th at 285, Gilman’s Makii Austin was 392nd at 272 and Medford’s Brock Anderson was 460th at 269.
Gilman’s Reece Weir shot a 281 to rank 82nd out of 1,193 high school girls in the 3-D competition. Shyan Pentimone shot a 276 to place 188th, Ava Webster ranked 463rd at 265, Kameron Baltzley shot a 255 to place 686th, Kennedy Buske shot a 254 to place 726th, Olivia Buske was 924th at 242 and Destiny Motte was 1,104th at 215.
Gilman eighth grader Colton Lang did well, ranking 51st out of 1,385 middle school boys with a score of 282. Also from Gilman, Wyatt Stephens was 236th (270), Eli Schleis was 333rd (265), Jaylin Mallo was 552nd (257), Aiden Henke was 575th (256) and Weston Baltzley was 1,229th (211). Emma Partridge shot a 228 to rank 926 out of 1,221 middle school girls.
Medford fifth grader Wyllow Freudenthal placed high in the girls elementary division, taking 21st out of 721 archers with a score of 266. Gilman’s Addison Lang was 506th with her score of 198. In the elementary boys division, Gilman’s Ryder Schleis was 128th (253), Kaysen Westaby was 135th (252) and Miles Poppy was 597th (199).
In the bullseye shoot, Gilman’s top eight males and four females, again including some middle schoolers, scored 3,338 points to rank 41st out of 265 teams. Champaign, Ill. Central High School won the championship with 3,459 points, three more than Saltillo High School of Missouri.
Pentimone was one of the highest-scoring locals. She shot a 290 to rank 28th out of 2,664 high school girls. Weir was 262nd (281), Webster was 408th (278), Misty Mravik was 419th (278), Kameron Baltzley was 641st (274), Olivia Buske was 2,059th (248), Kennedy Buske was 2,211th (244), Motte was 2,273rd (241) and Cora Thomas was 2,586th (210).
Terran Schleis also shot a 290, putting him 88th out of 2,554 high school boys. Hillebrand shot a 284 to rank 262nd for Medford. Austin was 883rd (272).
Dylan Emmerich of Medford shot a 282 to put him 106th out of 2,891 middle school boys and Colton Lang also shot a 282 with his final rank being 120th. Stephens was one point behind them and ranked 143rd. Eli Schleis was 558th (270), Henke was 1,301st (257), Weston Baltzley was 2,186th (238) and Mallo was 2,539th (225).
Ryder Schleis posted a score of 274. That put the Gilman fifth grader 40th out of 2,009 elementary boys, while Kaysen Westaby (268) was 94th and Poppy (237) was 856th. Freudenthal’s score of 255 put her 287th out of 1,805 elementary girls, while Addison Lang was 550th at 243.
Bullseye team scores over 3,150 in the high school division and individual scores of 280 in high school, 275 in middle school and 255 in the elementary division qualify archers for the 2025 NASP Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C. June 5-7 if archers choose to attend. For 3-D the individual qualifying scores are the same. The high school team score minimum in 1,475.
Centershot results
While in Louisville, Medford’s archers also competed in the 2025 Centershot Eastern National Tournaments.
In the bullseye shoot, Emmerich shot a 285 to place 25th among middle school boys. Hillebrand shot a 281 to rank 89th among high school boys and Anderson was 148th at 275. Freudenthal’s 252 put her 62nd among elementary girls and Rylee Emmerich’s 236 put her 134th in that division.
In the 3-D shoot, Hillebrand’s 283 put him 43rd among high school boys, Dylan Emmerich’s 272 ranked him 79th among middle school boys and Freudenthal’s 265 put her in ninth place out of 179 girls in the elementary division.
