Here is the list of CWD testing and deer carcass disposal options available to hunters as posted Nov. 6 on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ CWD sampling website (https://dnr.wisconsin. gov/topic/WildlifeHabitat/registersample).

The website is updated frequently, so hunters are encouraged to check it again before and during the nine-day gun season.

Before dropping off a deer head for sampling, hunters are required to register their deer through the GameReg harvest report at gowild.wi.gov/wildlife/harvest and complete the CWD testing form.

Taylor County CWD sampling and disposal options * Medford DNR Ranger Station, 200 Bauer Drive, kiosk open 24 hours behind the building on southeast side. Also a dumpster for deer carcass waste sponsored by the Taylor County Sportsman’s Club is located in back parking lot on east side of building.

* Rib Lake Cenex, 1302 State Hwy 102, store open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., kiosk open 24 hours on northeast side of store. Also a dumpster for deer carcass waste sponsored by the Taylor County Sportsman’s Club is located on the west side of the store near the other dumpsters.

* Gilman Corner Store, 120 Main Street, store open weekdays 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., kiosk open 24 hours located at front of the building. Also a dumpster for deer carcass waste sponsored by the Taylor County Sportsman’s Club is located behind/south of the store and the diesel fuel pumps.

* Northwoods Country Store, N8891 Bridge Drive, Sheldon, store open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Kiosk open 24 hours and located on east side of the building. There may not be cell service at the kiosk.

Clark County CWD sampling and disposal options * City of Owen garage, 951 E. 3rd Street, kiosk open 24 hours. A dumpster is also available for deer carcass waste.

* Wolf’s True Value, 315 S. Main Street, Greenwood, kiosk open 24 hours.

Chippewa County CWD sampling self-service options * Bob’s Processing, 2430 S. Main Street, Bloomer. Kiosk open 24 hours.

* Cornell Ranger Station, 117 S. Riverside Drive, Cornell. Kiosk open 24 hours.

* Jacobson’s Hardware, 17168 County Hwy J, Chippewa Falls. Kiosk open 24 hours. * Gilman Corner Store, 120 Main Street, store open weekdays 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., kiosk located at front of the building open 24 hours.

Marathon County CWD sampling and disposal options * Wausau DNR Service Center, 225051 Rib Mountain Drive, self-service kiosk open 24 hours.

* Mead Wildlife Area Headquarters, 201517 CTH S, Milladore, self-service kiosk open 24 hours. Also a dumpster for deer carcass waste is available.

* Whitetail Crossing Convenience Store, N7217 US Hwy 45, Wittenberg, Kiosk open 24 hours.

* Brad Krueger, N391 County Hwy D, Birnamwood, CWD sampling by appointment only. Call 715-881-0084 for more information.

* Superior Taxidermy, 9710 Camp Phillips Road, Weston, CWD sampling available with assistance. Business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment. Call 715-359-0557 for more information.

* Marathon County Bluebird Ridge Recycling and Disposal Facility, R18500 Hwy 29, Ringle. Landfill accepts deer carcass waste. Facility open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 to 11 a.m. A 24-hour notification is required for loads greater than four carcasses. This is not a CWD sampling or registration station.
