Welcome Back Abbotsford School District

Greetings! I hope everyone has had a relaxing and safe summer! It has certainly flown by. Before you know it, the 2024-2025 school year will be in full swing.

A lot of things have been happening at school during the summer. We just wrapped up our July summer school session. It was a great to see so many kids in the building. The pool has been a hit with summer swimmers! The kitchen staff has also stayed busy preparing breakfast and lunch for students in June and July. The maintenance department has also been busy this summer. They have been cleaning classrooms and getting things ready for the school year. We take great pride in our building!

Summer projects are nearing completion. All of the old carpet throughout the building has

been replaced with vinyl tile flooring. The football press box construction is under way and there will soon be walking trails around the new school forest area. We have another section of trees to plant next year and the forest will be complete. We’ll just need time for the trees to grow. We have a good survival rate so far. This will be a great educational tool.

Speaking of projects, we have been busy working with our architect and construction manager on designing our building additions and remodel from the April referendum. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2025 and be completed in July 2026. As with any construction project, there will no doubt at some point be minor inconveniences. We are looking forward to a completed project. Thank you again to our amazing community for your support!

Our staff had inservice August 1215th. August 14th was the annual Open House Night. Students and parents were invited to meet their teachers and check out their classrooms. It was a fun night and great to see so many smiling faces. This year, we had our fall pictures during Open House. If you were unable to attend, there will be a day during the fall for make ups.

The 2024-25 school year will be here before we know it. We will continue to strive to be a school district with excellent staff, programs, and student achievement.
