The Cadott girls wrestlers are continuing to make their mark and this time, it was at the Badger State Invite, Dec. 21, in Madison
“Overall, we had a good tournament,” said coach Greg Sonnentag. “Every girl we had was able to find some success, and we saw some growth and improvement throughout the day.”
Junior Iszy Sonnentag (114 pounds) again dominated the competition, coming home with first place, after moving through the bracket, followed by sophomore Taliann Donahue (132), who placed first in the consolation bracket, with a win over Paige Daniels, of Madison La Follette, in a 5-3 decision.
Earning third place, was sophomore Tessa York (120), who won over Neenah’s Ashlynn Scheidermayer, by an 8-5 decision. Also winning in the consolation round, was senior Molli York (145), as well as freshman Kaylee Stai (152), while senior Abigail Moss (138) and sophomore Arianna Walker (126) each dropped their matches.
“We were able to compete against some of the best female wrestlers in Wisconsin,” said Sonnentag,” and some from out of state, so, that’s always a good test and learning experience.”
