Sox run over Ticks as year nears completion

Cadott’s Red Sox Baseball team is going into Nabor Days weekend on a high note, after a landslide win over Bloomer.

July 17 vs. Tilden Tigers (L 10-3)

In a mid-week battle, the Sox were on the road at Tilden, getting on the board first, with a run in the opening inning. Both teams were held scoreless until the third inning, when Cadott had two runs cross the plate.

The Tigers answered back with a run in the fourth inning, as well as one in the fifth. Cadott led by a slim, one-run lead until the bottom of the eighth, when Tilden slammed in eight runs.

Cadott was unable to come back and the Tigers took the win, 10-3.

Zack Thiesse was on the mound for the Sox, going six innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 batters. Gio Basile then took over, giving up 6 hits and 8 runs.

On the offensive side, Logan Burzynski led with 3 hits, followed by Chad Kron, with 2, while Jack Kein, Luke Erickson, Jack Redwine, Sam Feck, Axel Tegels and Carter Hesselman all had a hit.

July 21 vs. Bloomer Woodticks (W 16-0)

To finish out the week, Cadott was again on the road, this time, to Bloomer, where offense was all Red Sox, all game. Collecting a season-high 23 hits, Cadott knocked in 16 runs for a shutout win over the Woodticks.

Thiesse had a no-hitter going into the sixth inning, notching his seventh victory of the season.

Offensively, Leo Lauscher was 4-4, with a homerun and 4 RBIs. Burzysnki went 4-6,w ith 3 RBIs, Hesselman was 3-6 and had 4 RBIs and Redwine ended with 3 RBIs.
