Another successful year in the books

Another successful year in the books Another successful year in the books

It is crazy to think that I am writing our last newsletter for the 2022-23 school year.

Wow! Where did the year go? It seems like just yesterday, we were celebrating with our homecoming activities and now we are quickly preparing for graduation. This year has pushed by us, but not without amazing memories and accomplishments. Our students and staff have proved again how much can be accomplished in such a short time. The students we have at Loyal are a true testament to the character and values ingrained within our community. Such acts are evident daily from all. It is a pleasure to see these things firsthand.

It is with great pleasure that I can congratulate the graduating class of 2023. Our seniors have worked very hard over the past 13 years to get to this point in their lives. They have learned through many challenges and celebrations that no matter how hard you prepare, there is always another path that may present itself. Their journeys will continue as each of them will complete one milestone and prepare for many more. A special congratulations goes out to our valedictorian, Leah Scherer, and our co-salutorians, Maci Bogdonovich and Anna Lindner. We wish them along with the rest of the graduates the best of luck.

I would like to congratulate all of our spring sports athletes and coaches on great seasons thus far. Our softball team won their first regional game last week and prepared to play on Tuesday. Our track team headed to their regional meet in Stratford on Monday and our baseball team plays their first regional game on Thursday in Alma. I believe that being an athlete during the spring season is by far the most challenging of all. There are so many postponements and rescheduled events that our athletes are competing multiple nights per week. They are also missing many hours of class due to the earlier start times that these events have. All of this adds another layer of stress on our studentathletes that many times can be difficult to deal with. I commend all of them for keeping up with the academics along with putting forth their best efforts in their sport. This last week of school is always filled with many things to accomplish. Our seniors have their class trip to Wisconsin Dells today (Wednesday). Our middle school students will be at West Side park for a cleanup day Wednesday afternoon while our high school students will enjoy their final student council activity during this time. On Thursday we will have our grades 6 and 7 awards presentation starting at 8 a.m., followed by our grades 9-11 awards presentation at 9:23 a.m., and then our eighth grade promotion ceremony begins at 10:39 a.m. We welcome family members to join us if your schedule permits. On Friday, we will be making sure all books, materials, computers, etc. are turned in, lockers are cleaned out and everything is closed out for another great school year. Just as a reminder, we are running a half day schedule for middle school and high school students on Tuesday, May 30, until noon. This was an additional day added due to excessive inclement weather days.

Another great school year will soon be part of history and the planning for 2023-24 will quickly begin to take place. I wish you all a wonderful summer vacation. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Take care, everyone. Have a safe summer and we will see you all in August!
