The final concert of the Medford Area Performing Arts Association’s 2022-2023 season will be on Saturday, May 20, when How Sweet It Is, a tribute to James Taylor, will perform at Medford Area Senior High School’s Red and White Theatre, beginning at 7 p.m.

Nashville-based Steve Leslie is an awarded singer/songwriter/guitarist. Steve’s songs have been recorded by Kenny Rogers, Mark Chesnutt, George Strait, Neal McCoy, Darius Rucker, and others. He won the Grammy award for penning the title cut for Ricky Skaggs’ 2004 Best Bluegrass Album. Steve has played the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and can be seen regularly at the world famous Bluebird Cafe.

In “How Sweet It Is!” Steve Leslie performs the music of one of his greatest influences, James Taylor, in an authentic and spellbinding concert event. Steve’s warm baritone and exceptional guitar technique will have audiences singing along to James Taylor’s incredible catalog of songs. Audiences are raving about “How Sweet It Is!” and the level of genuine craftsmanship Steve Leslie brings to James Taylor’s music. Leslie will be accompanied by his musical partner on piano.

Season ticket holders do not want to miss this performance. This show is not to be missed and definitely will not be forgotten.

Membership drive underway

The Medford Area Performing Arts Association has begun their membership drive for the 2023-24 concert season, which consists of three programs. Divas 3 are three female singers with powerful voices who sing the biggest hits of the greatest divas of the 1960s through the 1990s. Jason Lyle Black is a piano entertainer who takes the audience through nearly 100 songs from numerous musical styles interwoven with comedic stories. Branden & James with Effie Passero are a talented group bringing to life some of Broadway’s favorites, desirable classics, and modern pops through a combination of vocals, piano, and cello. Anyone purchasing a ticket for the 2023-24 season may attend the “How Sweet It Is!” concert as a bonus concert. New memberships may be purchased at the door the night of the program.
