RAINBOW GYMNASTICS - Club gymnasts get season off to a good start in their home Winter Spectacular
RAINBOW GYMNASTICS
The Rainbow Gymnastics Club of Medford began its 2023-24 season of competition by hosting its Winter Spectacular on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Medford Area Elementary School.
Along with the home team, Hub City of Marshfield, Northwoods of Rhinelander and Hardcore of Reedsburg were the other clubs represented at the meet.
Level 4
The Rainbow club claimed the Level 4 team title with 103.7 points behind the efforts of Adalynn Foster (35.15 all-around points), Aurelia Brushaber (34.3) and Kree Doriot (34.25). They finished first, third and fourth.
Foster won the balance beam (9.25) and uneven bars (8.3). Doriot tied Hub City’s Eva Hoogesteger for first in the floor exercise with a 9.0, followed by Brushaber (8.9) and Foster (8.7). Brushaber was second on vault with a 9.3, followed by Doriot (8.95) and Foster (8.9). Doriot placed second on bars with her 8.0, while Brushaber was third at 7.9. Doriot and Brushaber were third and fourth on beam with an 8.3 and 8.2 respectively.
Level 2
Most of Rainbow’s competitors in this meet were in Level 2, where the team scored 111.4 points to fall just behind Hub City (111.65) and ahead of Northwoods (103.05).

5. Carmen Frahmann, 35.7; 9.55 V

Level 3
In Level 3, Hub City outscored Rainbow 110.35-104.35 in the team standings.
Rainbow’s Group A results were:
3. Miranda Potocnik, 34.3; 8.8 V (8th),
8.7 UB (3rd), 7.9 BB (T6th), 8.9 FX (1st).
5. Tinley Hamm, 34.2; 9.3 V (3rd), 7.4 UB (7th), 8.9 BB (T3rd), 8.6 FX (T3rd).
6. Avery Lange, 34.05; 8.85 V (T6th), 8.3 UB (4th), 8.3 BB (5th), 8.6 FX (T3rd).
7. Myla Mallak, 33.6; 8.85 V (T6th), 8.2 UB (5th), 7.85 BB (8th), 8.7 FX (2nd).
Rainbow’s Group B results were:
5. Kimberley Blair, 34.0; 8.8 V (6th), 8.1 UB (T4th), 8.4 BB (5th), 8.7 FX (4th).
6. Amelia Ranum, 33.8; 8.85 V (T4th),
7.7 UB (6th), 8.35 (6th), 8.9 FX (3rd).
Level 6
Level 6 featured a close team competition won by Hub City with 108.5 points. Northwoods edged Rainbow 106.2-105.25 for second place.
All three of Rainbow’s gymnasts competed in Group B. Brooke Buechel won with 36.2 all-around points including wins on vault (9.45) and bars (9.1), a second on floor (8.9) and a third on beam
(8.75).
Jordyn Grant was third all-around with 35.35 points. She was second on vault (9.4) and beam (8.95), tied for second on bars (8.2) and was third on floor (8.8). Rylee Hartwig scored 33.7 all-around points to place fourth. That included a tie for second on bars (8.2), a third on vault
(9.2) and fourths on beam (7.6) and floor
(8.7).
Level 5, XG
In the Level 5 competition, Rainbow’s Ruby Holtman was third (35.35) and Mackinley Mueller placed fourth (33.35) in the all-around standings.
Holtman won the beam with an 8.95, took second on bars at 8.35, tied for second on vault at 9.2 and was third on floor at 8.85. Mueller was third on bars with an
8.2 and fourth on vault (9.15), floor (8.6) and beam (7.4).
Lillian Nemitz-Coleman was fourth in Group A of Xcel Gold competition with
31.7 all-around points. She was third on floor with an 8.8 and fourth on vault (8.9), bars (7.3) and beam (6.7).
