Sox take double header road wins over Athletics

Let’s play two was the theme for the week, as the Cadott Red Sox were on the road in baseball matches with the Augusta Athletics.
May 12 vs. Augusta Athletics (W 17-5)
The first game began with a barrage of runs from Cadott, who put up 10 runs on the board in the first inning. The Athletics attempted a rally in the second inning, bringing three runs across the plate, as well as one in the fourth and fifth, but the Sox added another seven runs in the fifth to claim a 17-5 victory.
On the mound for Cadott, Zack Thiesse went all five innings, allowing 7 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 5.
For the offense, catcher Jonah Hanson hit his first career homerun, ending with 2 hits. Zac Merritt came up with 3 hits in the game, while Jack Kein had 2 hits. Bennett Bowe and Carter Hesselman each added a hit.
May 12 vs. Augusta Athletics (W 5-2)
Scoring wasn’t as present in the next game, but Cadott still came out on top, adding two runs in the first and second innings, and one in the third, while holding Augusta to just two runs. The Sox took a 5-2 win and saw Thiesse come up with another win, going six innings, allowing just 4 hits and a run.
He is now 3-1 on the year, with 34 strikeouts to his credit and a 2.00 ERA in the league.
In the second game, Jack Redwine had 3 hits, while Kein and Hanson each added 2 hits. Chad Kron, Logan Burzynski and Hesselman all chipped in with a hit.
