By Ginna Young
The Cornell-Lake Holcombe softball program was on the road for two games, one in East Lake Conference action, the other stepping out of the league.
April 18 vs. Bruce conference (L 15-0)
Heading to Bruce, the Knights were ready to begin their week.
But, offense proved a problem for the Knights, with Bruce knocking in 15 runs for the shutout win.
For the Knights, senior Teryn Close ended with 2 hits, and seniors Harycki and Allie Turany, and junior Bralee Schroeder all added a hit.
April 22 vs. Augusta non-conference (L 1-0)
A few days later, the Knights were again on the road, this time, against Augusta. It was a close affair, but the Beavers pulled out a 1-0 victory.
Senior Brooke Anderson was on the mound for Cornell-Lake Holcombe, going just over six innings, allowing seven hits and a run, with 8 strikeouts.
Offensively, Harycki was the only one who came up with hits, ending with 2.
Cornell-Lake Holcombe is 3-4 overall and sits at 2-2 in the league.
