Super sleuths invited to ‘Get a Clue!’ at End of Summer Fest Super sleuths invited to ‘Get a Clue!’ at End of Summer Fest

Greenwood End of Summer Fest is right around the corner, and our Clue Characters are back! Super sleuths of all ages are invited to join in to solve the mystery of “Who killed Mr. Boddy?”

How it works – This is an interactive game of Clue where the characters come to life and Greenwood is your game board. You can participate alone or in teams.

We’re excited to offer this unique experience at Greenwood End of Summer Fest. Participants have the chance to interact with the characters, use their deductive and puzzle-solving skills, and learn some history of Greenwood all at the same time. We’re hoping adults, families and kids will all enjoy the challenge and fun of solving the mystery of “Who Dunnit!” There is no cost to play, so get your investigative skills ready to crack the case.

Saturday, Sept. 9 -- 11:30-11:50 a.m. – Register outside of the Branstiter Museum.

-- Noon – The game begins. Meet the characters, hear alibis, get your free Clue case file and first clue, and work to solve the mystery.

-- 2 p.m. – “Detectives” must submit their accusation by this time to the box in front of the Branstiter Museum.

-- Approximately 2:15 p.m. – The final reveal will occur at Branstiter Museum with prizes drawn. You must be present to win.

Brenda Thomas is the game coordinator and is happy to bring this experience to Greenwood.

“A few years ago, we were on a cruise and the cruise line had an interactive Clue game with live characters and clue opportunities throughout the week; we had a blast playing and later my husband said to me, ‘Wouldn’t this be awesome to create for Greenwood?’ That’s when the idea was born; we were passionate to grow the success of Summer Fest and give people and families a reason to come and offer them something fun and different to do,” said Thomas.

She said she had hosted “Get a Clue!” for three years now and had seen a lot of families and friend groups participate.

“For anyone who enjoys a mystery, an escape room or playing the game of Clue, it’s a fun activity,” she said. “You don’t often get the opportunity to have an experience like this, especially for free. I’m excited we can offer a fun experience for kids and families, and adults. We’ve had adult teams too. It’s a different kind of adventure.”

She also said she was grateful for the students who were willing to act as Clue characters. Some of this year’s actors and actresses played the game themselves when they were younger.

“It’s cool to see them continuing it, even with them being involved in a lot of things in school,” said Thomas.

The game is sponsored by Dallman Insurance and the City of Greenwood. Three winners will be drawn; prizes are Greenwood Area Commerce gift certificates.
