Jays swoop over Chiefs for victory

To open the eight-man football season, Cornell played host to non-conference foe Athens, in a home game Aug. 25.
Unfortunately for the Chiefs, Athens had a strong pass/run team in the first quarter, racking up 28 points and holding Cornell scoreless throughout the game.
The Bluejays added a touchdown in the second quarter and another in the fourth, to take home a 44-0 win.
Senior Noah Cripe had 18 yards rushing on the night for the Chiefs, along with 10 yards receiving, while senior quarterback Bentley Spangler ended with 10 yards passing.
Anthony Scofield, sophomore, also came away with 7 yards rushing.
