The host Gilman Pirate Archery Club and the Medford Archery Club each won a team championship in the 3-D shoot and both earned high team placement in the bullseye shoot during Saturday’s annual Gilman Archery Tournament.

Gilman won the middle school 3-D team title with an overall score of 1,632. That got the Pirates comfortably ahead of Thorp (1,533); Stratford (1,451), Auburndale (1,296) and Faith Christian Academy (1,232). Medford was the top team in high school 3-D competition with 1,647 points. The Raiders were five points better than Marshfield, while Stratford (1,592), Gilman (1,567) and Faith Christian Academy (1,453) filled out the field.

Gilman nearly swept the middle school team titles. The Pirates scored 3,116 points in the bullseye shoot and fell 24 points behind the top team from Thorp. Gilman was easily ahead of third-place Cadott (3,039). Medford was third in the high school division with 3,243 points, while Gilman was fifth with 3,055. Cadott (3,329) and Marshfield were the top two teams (3,253).

Medford’s Dylan Emmerich was a double winner, taking the middle school boys bullseye and 3-D championships with scores of 288 and 287 out of a possible 300. Raider Ezra Hillebrand was third in the high school boys 3-D shoot at 278 and fourth in bullseye competition at 287. Medford also had the top girls high school archers in both meets. Mattie Gebert took the bullseye title with a 288, while Jenna Wickersheim was the 3-D winner with her score of 285. She won a tiebreaker over Gebert with 18 10-point shots, one more than Gebert.

Gilman’s Colton Long took second in the middle school boys shoot, two points behind Emmerich at 286, and he was third in the 3-D shoot at 284. Medford’s Karson Ecklund (281) and Gilman’s Wyatt Stephens (279) were fourth and fifth among bullseye competitors. Stephens also was fifth in the 3-D meet. Gilman’s Jazmyn Robinson was third in the middle school girls 3-D shoot at 267 and fourth in the bullseye shoot at 276. Pirate Reece Weir was just ahead of Robinson in 3-D scoring with a 276. Gilman’s Ava Webster and Kennedy Buske also were in the middle school 3-D top five. Gilman’s Dylan Herring was fifth in the elementary boys bullseye scoring with a 222.

There were 459 registered archers in the bullseye shoot, 252 boys and 207 girls. The 3-D tournament drew 119 entrants, 62 boys and 57 girls.
