New Year’s Eve Dance
There will be a New Year’s Eve dance, sponsored by the National Guard unit, at the Abbotsford armory. Emil and his band will furnish the music for dancing until ??. Everyone is invited.
Social security taxes increased Jan. 1
The federal law provides that, beginning Jan. 1, 1954, workers and employers must each pay $2 social security tax on every $100 wages received, up to $3,600 per year.
General Telephone Co. installs 100,000th phone
The General Telephone Company of Wisconsin completed the installation of its hundred thousandth telephone on Dec. 17 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Suckow, of rural Campbellsport.
