School district professionals from across the CESA 9 region recently came together for a common day of learning in order to fulfill the vision of district leaders to unite in a day of learning.

Teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals and other staff from the districts of Athens, Edgar, Marathon, Prentice, Rib Lake and Stratford came together at the October 20 event. The event was hosted by the Marathon School District to connect, learn and grow, and inspire one another through professional learning and networking.

The topics of the October 20 event were developed based on feedback from staff, district goals and CESA 9. The day was designed to grow skills, connect with other professionals from around the region and inspire. Even though there are challenges every day in education, these districts see the importance of keeping the students at the center and focusing on the future.

The day started with a keynote session featuring Tom Thibodeau. Then there was an opportunity for professionals to connect and share best practices with others based on their content and grade level. In the afternoon, participants were able to select sessions based on needs and interest.

This event is in its second year and is the result of district administrators from around the CESA 9 region wanting professional development opportunities where staff could connect and learn with others from outside their own community. These districts see the importance of partnership and collaboration, knowing that all students are our students.
