I’m too old for this…

I’m too old for this… I’m too old for this…

After a busy week with election coverage, our Rural Living special section only a week away, city council meetings and all the other in-between stories, I’m ready for a couple of days off. This weekend, a couple of friends and I are meeting up with some other guys in the cities for a bachelor party.

The itinerary has us arriving sometime on Friday afternoon with events planned all throughout the weekend including a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. I’m at that age where I’m entering the meat and potatoes of my working career. It also happens to be when a good chunk of my close friends and family are getting married.

This weekend’s bachelor party, combined with next weekend’s wedding for that same person has me in a whirlwind. I’m working to get as much done as I can before I go on this three-day extravaganza.

Looking at what is scheduled for the weekend, I didn’t see a nap time or a time slot for watching a Sunday afternoon Brewer game. However, I think those might be relatively beneficial for me, personally. Being an adult kind of makes me miss kindergarten when we had an actual nap time and the teachers played “Baby Beluga” or some other nursery rhyme song. The weekend will be a blast and I’m very excited to get out of the chain of being close to my phone out of fear of missing an important email or something. The days of young Neal being able to constantly run to and from events has long gone I’m afraid. Don’t tell the groom, but we’ve got the concert, TopGolf, a gun range, poker tournament and more on the schedule for the weekend. It should be a blast.

Well, as I’m writing this, I’ve been surrounded by cats once again so here’s a picture of one.
