Hornets give great effort at the conference meet

In their final run before the post-season, the Cadott cross country team was on the road to Lake Wissota, Oct. 14, for the conference meet.
“A lot of great efforts from several team members, who either set personal records or seasonal best times, at this meet,” said coach Tom Weiss.
Coming up with top honors, on the girls side, sophomore Iszy Sonnentag finished finished in 12th place, with a time of 21:42.6, followed by senior Jaycee Stephens, in 17th (22:14.2). Junior Lyla Wegeen placed 33rd (24:11.9), while sophomore Josie Roth ended in 35th (24:17) and junior Cortney Weggen was 37th (24:19.3).
Junior Mia Weggen came next, in 52nd (26:26.4), with junior Adrianna Goodman in 53rd (26:31.2).
For the boys, sophomore Saibyn Will placed 19th (18:23.3), with freshman Beau Steinke in 24th (18:43.7) and junior Ewan Weir was 33rd (19:42.6). Freshman Jon Phelps came next, with 43rd place (20:31.8), while freshman Garrett Engel was 46th (20:43.2) and senior Eli Burich finished in 49th (21:05.3).
Next up for the Hornets, is Sectional action at home on the Whispering Pines Golf Course.
